“Passionfruit Flowers” Oil on jarrah wood panel

It was popular in the Victorian era to paint botanical subjects on wooden panels. I’d always wanted to do the same. We had recycled jarrah panels from a sound system, just perfect for sanding and sealing before painting in oils. Passionfruit flowers are one of Nature’s surprises.

Once again our Gooseberry Hill garden supplied the models. 2020. 34 x 28 cms. The added weight of the wood increases the shipping cost, but it is ready to hang. No frame needed.
