Flores Ikat large shawl, Nggela

This is a splendid example of the dramatic dark colours that an ikat weaver can create with indigo  and multiple over dyeing with other plant colours. The motifs are finely delineated. The subtleties of tone would continually be revealed to the wearer. In addition it has spectacular long fringes. It could also be used at the the end of a bed, or a chair cover, a table runner or a wall hanging. It is ready to use with pride over many years.
