“Buddha with Tibetan Kettle,” Acrylic painting 2018

To experience going through the Himalayas into Ladah in 2018 is one of the highlights of my life. Many paintings were made while I was there. However I brought home this lovely copper kettle made by Tibetan craftsmen in Leh, Ladakh. The bronze Buddha head was cast in Java and gifted to me by a Malaysian friend who understood my interest in Buddhism. I have combined the realism of being with these actual objects with a silk scarf to also represent these mountains and snow.
